Clay Jenkins & Associates plans to debut its “Texting and Driving: Raising Awareness” scholarship in early 2024. This scholarship promises $1,000 to a student who can compose a compelling, 1000-word essay on the dangers of texting and driving.
Interested students must submit all of their application materials by November 15, 2024, to have their essays considered by the firm’s scholarship selection committee.
Clay Jenkins & Associates encourages students from all walks of life and areas of study to apply for this scholarship. The firm intends to make the scholarship available to incoming students, current undergraduates, and graduate students.
Application Requirements
Students interested in applying for the “Texting and Driving: Raising Awareness” scholarship must submit documentation alongside their essays proving that they meet the scholarship’s application requirements. Graduate and undergraduate students who want Clay Jenkins & Associates to consider their applications must meet the following criteria:
- You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- You are enrolled in or accepted at an accredited college, university, or graduate school in the United States
- You agree to the scholarship terms and conditions
- Submit the necessary application materials
How Do I Apply?
Upon completing your scholarship essay, students should fill out the application form on Clay Jenkins & Associates’s relevant page. Clay Jenkins & Associates expects students to then:
- Upload a copy of your unofficial transcript
- Upload a copy of your scholarship essay
- Submit proof of enrollment/acceptance to an accredited college/ university/ graduate school (Student ID, letter of acceptance, etc.)
Scholarship Essay Topic
Clay Jenkins & Associates wants students to write 1,000 words or fewer on the topic of distracted driving. Students should specifically focus on the dangers of texting and driving as well as the legal consequences that parties who violate their state’s distracted driving laws may face.
When writing their essays, students can consider questions like:
- Why do people continue to text and drive despite national and local anti-texting laws?
- How does texting and driving endanger motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, and other parties on the road?
- Can a person who’s charged with texting and driving face criminal consequences for their behavior?
- How can states find new ways to discourage texting and driving?
Students are not obligated to answer these questions but can rather use them as inspiration to better answer the scholarship essay’s primary prompt.
Application Deadline
You have until November 15, 2024, to submit your scholarship essay and relevant application materials to the Clay Jenkins & Associates team. Clay Jenkins & Associates will not consider scholarship applications submitted after the deadline.
Once the firm closes its scholarship, the team will form a scholarship selection committee to consider the applications it’s received. Applicants can expect to hear back as to the status of their applications within one to three months of the scholarship’s closing date.
At this time, Clay Jenkins & Associates cannot answer calls or emails asking questions about the “Texting and Driving: Raising Awareness” scholarship. Students and parents with questions about the nature of the scholarship can refer to this page and Clay Jenkins & Associates’ other relevant scholarship pages for all of the information they need to complete an application.
Terms and Conditions
All applicants to this scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements as laid out on the scholarship application page, including:
- Applicant must be enrolled at a college, university, or graduate school
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the age of enrollment
- Applicant must have residency in the United States
- Applicant must be in good academic standing
- Applicant must submit some personal information, including name, contact information, and proof of enrollment.
- Applicant must author an original essay on the scholarship essay topic provided.
Anyone who meets the following conditions is NOT eligible to apply:
- Employees or children of employees of Clay Jenkins & Associates
- Past recipients of the “Texting and Driving: Raising Awareness” scholarship
- Applicants who are unable/unwilling to be interviewed by a representative of Clay Jenkins & Associates if they were to be awarded a scholarship.
- Applicants who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships
Selection & Award Notification Process
Clay Jenkins & Associates will not consider scholarship applications submitted after its November deadline or scholarships submitted without the aforementioned essential materials. Once the scholarship closes, the scholarship committee will consider students’ applications.
Age, race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or other protected classes will have no influence on the committee’s decision.
At this time, Clay Jenkins & Associates cannot answer any questions about its scholarships or students’ application statuses. Clay Jenkins & Associates will only contact the recipient of the “Texting and Driving: Raising Awareness” scholarship upon choosing a winner.
Clay Jenkins & Associates notifies the relevant applicant of their winnings via email. The firm announces its scholarship winner via a blog post and a press release. Clay Jenkins & Associates will then reach out to the academic institution listed on the student’s application to arrange the transfer of relevant scholarship funds.
